When we return to school after the half term break, pupils who attend after school clubs and are taken home by taxi will be dropped off in their home street. This is our normal procedure when it's dark before pupils leave school.

Congratulations to Evan, one of our year 8 pupils, who is the lucky winner of our Harvest Festival pumpkin. Well done Evan and a big thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets. We raised £17 in total which will be donated to our school fund. Thank you.

Important- We can only take the old round £1 coins in school until Friday 13th October. On Monday 16th October they will no longer be legal tender and we will be unable to accept them in school.

The County Council's online admissions portal is now open. If your child is currently in Year 8, this enables you to apply online for a place at your chosen high school. Please be advised that your child WILL NOT automatically be allocated a place at high school - you will need to apply. The portal will close on Tuesday 31st October 2017. If your child needs to take any medication (prescription/over the counter), please call in to the school office and complete our medication dispensing form BEFORE sending any treatment in with your child. ALL medication (including inhalers) should be clearly labelled with your child's name AND within its expiry date.

Under certain circumstances it may be necessary to contact you urgently to pass on information about your child or an incident within school. It is therefore essential that we have the most up to date contact details available for our parents, carers, or nominated 'first contact'. If you have changed your contact details since July 2017 and you think we may have not been informed, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can make any necessary amendments. A copy of our pupil data sheet is available on our website under Parent Information - Forms, should you wish to print it off and send it in to school with your child.

We have also had an increase in the amount of unclaimed lost property, most of which is not named. This makes it more difficult to reunite items with their owners. Could you please ensure that all items of uniform, including P.E. kit, are clearly marked with your child's name.

If your child is absent from school at any time, please ask them to come to the office on their return for a copy of any letters they may have missed. Thank you.
